It’s Enterprise Week 2010 and students from Gower College Swansea are enjoying a five-day entrepreneurial extravaganza!
As well as the launch of the Welsh Assembly Government-backed ‘Big Ideas Wales’ competition, where the best business ideas can win cash prizes, there will be an interactive Stock Market Challenge for BTEC Business students.
During ‘Women’s Enterprise Day’ students will meet with high profile female entrepreneurs and business owners in the prestigious Ethos Building in SA1.
Travel and Tourism students are holding a ‘Pyjama Day’ with all donations going to Waunwen Primary School’s Christmas Party. A ‘Mad Hatters Day’ sees staff and students donning a range of fun hats to raise money for Children in Need.
“Every year we encourage everyone to get into the entrepreneurial spirit of things and come up with exciting new ideas that will revolutionise the business world,” explains Enterprise Education Manager Sue Poole. “Of course it’s important to have fun in the process too and we always raise lots of money for good causes with our fancy dress projects.”
At Gorseinon, Media students will be treated to a visit from Ed Pereira, a successful magazine owner and editor, and the week will end with a ‘University Challenge’ between staff and students and a live performance from local band The Rookz.
