Commenting on the latest unemployment figures, Nick Ramsay AM, Shadow Minister for Business, Enterprise, Technology & Science, said:
“We welcome the positive news for Wales and Welsh families of a fall in unemployment levels.
“However, the economic outlook remains fragile and unemployment remains too high, especially amongst 16 to 24 year olds.
“The Welsh Government needs to play its part in creating the conditions for economic growth by taking prompt policy decisions to help attract prospective employers and investors to Wales.
“Following the business rate review, the Welsh Government now has a great opportunity to offer incentives to small businesses to help grow our economy.”
Andrew RT Davies AM, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the National Assembly, said, “These figures give gentle cause for optimism in the Welsh economy, although economies across Europe remain in choppy waters due to Eurozone uncertainty.
“I would strongly urge the Welsh Government to work constructively with UK Government Ministers to support Wales’ economic recovery.”
