The Work of Welsh Army Regiments has been celebrated at a special Parliamentary event.
Wrexham MP Ian Lucas was among Parliamentarians marking the work of Welsh Regiments this week, and met with army members from the Wrexham area during the event to find out more about their work and that of the Welsh Regiments.
Speaking after the event, Mr Lucas said he wanted to see Wrexham built on its strong links with Welsh regiments in the future.
He said:
“I was very pleased to attend the event, to speak to soldiers from places like Borras, and to hear from them how much they valued their links and events such as the recent marches through Wrexham. They know that we have a commitment to the Armed Forces in the town, and hopefully events such as the march can become regular ones.
“I know that reorganisation has changed the historic relationship with regiments in Wrexham , but I believe we should look to build on the strong links which the town already has with the forces.”
