When learning language, it’s often easier the earlier you start. If you want to support your young child’s education by learning Welsh, then a new course being launched by Coleg Gwent Welsh for Adults Centre could help you to give your family the benefits of a bilingual education.
A new Welsh for the Family course, aimed at families who want to speak Welsh with their young children, is being launched at the National Eisteddfod in Ebbw Vale on Sunday 1 August at 1pm.
Visitors to the Coleg Gwent Welsh for Adults Centre stand in the Welsh learning area, Maes D, are invited to join the celebrations with a procession and launch event featuring a host of entertainment including S4C characters and live music. The launch event has been planned with new families in mind, and new parents visiting the Maes will also be able to use baby changing facilities provided at the TWF stand.
Welsh for the Family Development Officer, Ffion Green, said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of this new course; Cymraeg o’r Crud at the National Eisteddfod, and hope it will be a great success. The course is intended for families with babies and toddlers who want to learn to speak Welsh with their children, so we aim to provide parents with the language skills they need to support children who will go on to learn Welsh in school.”
