Shadow Minister for Sport Mohammad Asghar has welcomed reports that a £200million motor racing circuit could be developed in Ebbw Vale.
A proposed circuit could be built on the Rassau industrial estate on the Heads of the Valley road.
The South Wales East AM said: “This is an exciting proposed development, which could see world-famous events, such as motorcycling’s MotoGP, take place in Ebbw Vale.
“I urge the Welsh Government to enter discussions with the benefits this development could have for the local area at the forefront of their minds.
“The circuit could have international importance, and would therefore promote Ebbw Vale and South East Wales to a global audience.
“A large number of top-quality jobs could be brought to the area, whilst the potential benefits to the local economy and for tourism are enormous”.
