This summer, wheelchair users will have a unique opportunity to visit some of north-west Wales’ most striking locations.
Conwy Council is supporting a joint project which has arranged a programme of countryside wheelchair walks – again this year the choices of walks will visit some of Wales’ most fantastic locations.
The aim of these guided tours is to give wheelchair users the opportunity to enjoy rural habitats and nature reserves.
Conwy Council’s Countryside Service will be leading a walk to Morfa Madryn Reserve on 3rd July, which will give the chance to visit to the bird hides to watch the shore birds in their summer splendour. Leaders will be on hand to tell you about the history of and nature along this magnificent coastline.
Alun Jones, Conwy Countryside Warden said, “We want everyone to have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful countryside we have in this area. What’s good about these events is that there are volunteers joining us, so families and carers can take a break and enjoy the walk.”
Wheelchair users are asked to bring at least one relative or friend with them. Officers and volunteers will be available throughout the afternoon to offer assistance.
You must book your place on the walks. For more information, or to book a place on the Morfa Madryn Walk contact Alun Jones on (01492) 575200 or email [email protected]
