White van appeal

NW PolicePolice are appealing for witnesses after two men escaped from a van in which they were traveling as passengers.

The first man jumped out of the white Vauxhall Astra Van on the A55 in Old Colwyn in the early hours of Monday 7th December, at about 1.20am.

The 20-year-old man was traveling in the van from Conwy towards Chester and following an incident inside the van, he jumped out on the eastbound carriageway of the A55 near to the Old Colwyn junction. The Astra van did not stop and continued on the A55. The man suffered minor injuries from his fall and was later released from hospital.

About an hour later, a second man, aged 22, presented himself at Wrexham Police Station having been found by another motorist on the outskirts of Wrexham and having managed to negotiate his release from the same vehicle. He was uninjured but very shaken.

Police are also appealing for this witnesses who assisted the victim and drove him to Wrexham Police Station to come forward.

A police investigation located the van and two men were later arrested in Wrexham.

Both men, aged 31and 26, have been remanded in custody after appearing at Llandudno Magistrates Court on Wednesday 9th December, charged with offences of false imprisonment, robbery and assault.

Police are also keen to speak to a third man who was driving the white Astra van, and are appealing to him to contact detectives.
