Recently retired Winifred Lang from Beddau almost didn’t buy the ticket which won her a brand new Suzuki Swift in the Tŷ Hafan Christmas Prize Draw.
But after reading a story about an amazing little boy and his family who used the children’s hospice and its services for many years, Winifred was convinced her money was definitely going to make a real difference.
The presentation of the car, which was kindly donated to Tŷ Hafan by J & J Motors of Bridgend, took place on Friday 7th January by David Griffiths from Tŷ Hafan and Richard Lewis from J & J Motors.
“I received a phone call on 20 December from Tŷ Hafan telling me that I had won the car. I didn’t really take it in at that point and it wasn’t until I actually got into the car to be shown all the controls that it finally dawned on me”
Winifred is now going to become a member of the weekly Crackerjackpot lottery which makes a substantial contribution to providing comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families from across Wales.
Who knows she could be the next one to win the rollover of £12,000.
