At approximately 12:40hrs on Saturday, October 3, 2009 a Road Traffic Collision occurred on the A40 Trunk Road, Tafarn Newydd, Llandovery involving a yellow Honda Fireblade motor cycle and a Ford Focus motor car.
As a result of the collision the rider of the motorcycle, David Furness, 34, of Abertridwr, Caerphilly, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The two occupants of the Ford Focus were uninjured.
The road was closed for five hours whilst a full scene examination was carried out by the Collision Investigator.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them on 101.
