Welsh Music Foundation (WMF) is once again working alongside Swn Festival and is coordinating many of the free daytime sessions.
Thought-provoking and informative sessions take place during the daytime on Friday 22nd October 2010 and Saturday 23rd October 2010 at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff as part of Swn, the festival which stretches across Cardiff and brings three days of live music from over 150 artists to a host of venues in the city.
The daytime sessions on Friday will look at dissecting the live music scene in south Wales, as well as discovering how concert promoters, musicians, venues and music managers can develop and grow their live shows. With representatives from Cardiff’s Association of Promoters and Events, Swn Festival, Push 4 Music and NME magazine, amongst others, joining as guests.
On Saturday, Swn welcomes Author and Columnist Will Hodgkinson with special guests as he discusses his latest book ‘The Ballad of Britain’ and thoughts on folk music in Wales, and also an hour with Richard Parfitt, who has sold more over a million records and co-written with Duffy.
The daytime programme culminates with a special session featuring broadcasting legend Steve Lamacq as he returns to Swn and opens a weeks worth of post, sharing how he selects the music he plays and promotes for a truly thrilling ninety minutes, not to be missed!
The Swn daytime music industry sessions are free to attend. Those wanting to attend do not necessarily need a Swn Wristband.
