Work is to be carried out on Adam Street in Cardiff city centre to provide a new signal controlled junction to access the car park.
The new junction will have a new pedestrian and cycle crossing with the work designed to support the future regeneration of the car park.
While the work is ongoing traffic is being reduced to one lane in each direction, which will cause some disruption. Every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum but the Council is advising road users to use alternative routes at peak times.
Work on the highway will start today (Monday, January 23) and is programmed to be completed by Monday, May 21. Advance warning signs will be in place leading up to the commencement of the work.
Councillor Neil McEvoy, Executive member for Economic Development and Transport, said: “This work is much needed and will greatly improve access for pedestrians and cyclists to the Adam Street car park. There will be some disruption but we hope to have this work completed within four months and the end result will make a significant difference for pedestrians getting in and out of the car park.”
