From building materials, public transport contracts and specialised vehicles to office supplies, catering equipment and cleaning products, Gwynedd Council purchases a wide-range of goods and services every year so that it can deliver local services.
As part of the Council’s efforts to encourage local businesses to compete for such contracts with Gwynedd, a series of “Supplier Surgeries” events have been arranged during September.
Gwynedd Council Leader, Councillor Dyfed Edwards said:
“As a Council, we are committed to encouraging local businesses of all sizes to find out more about how they can do business with us.
“As a large organisation which delivers a wide-range of public services across the county, Gwynedd Council deals with a variety of contracts which range from one-off purchases to long term contracts for supplies, services or works.
“These events held throughout September will be a great opportunity for companies to find out how they go about competing for contracts with the Council. We would urge anyone interested in attending to contact the team to book a place.”
Staff from Gwynedd Council’s Corporate Procurement Service and Business Support Service will be on-hand to offer advice and answer any queries.
The “Supplier Surgeries” events will be held at:
– Celtic Royal Hotel, Caernarfon on Wednesday, 9 September 2009 (12pm – 6pm)
– Y Ganolfan, Porthmadog on Wednesday, 16 September 2009 (12pm – 6pm)
– The Royal Ship Hotel, Dolgellau on Thursday, 24 September 2009 (12pm – 6pm)
A 20 minute slot will be allocated for each business during the events. If you would like to attend, please contact Derwenna Bridle on 01248 672610 or e-mail: [email protected] to reserve a place.
