People of all ages had a chance to try yoga at libraries across Rhondda Cynon Taf during ‘Fancy that! – the Welsh Libraries Festival’.
Events for all the family were held at libraries across Wales during the festival, funded by CyMAL, the Museums Archives and Libraries Wales division of the Welsh Assembly Government.
Hatha yoga tasters were offered by Rhondda Cynon Taf Libraries Service at Aberdare Library, Beddau Library, Maerdy Library, Penrhiwceiber Library, Rhydyfelin Library, Ton Pentre Library, Treorchy Library and Tylorstown Library.
Paul Wigley, Branch Librarian at Hirwaun Library, led the sessions.
Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Recreation and Tourism, Cllr Robert Bevan, said: “We were delighted to be able to offer free yoga classes as part of the Welsh Libraries Festival.
“All the yoga sessions were well attended and we received very positive feedback, with some people asking for regular classes at their local library.”
Funding for the festival was provided by the Welsh Assembly Government through the Libraries for Life programme, a three year £10.5million scheme which aims to attract more people to use libraries through providing improved facilities and services at libraries throughout Wales.
Membership of all Rhondda Cynon Taf’s libraries is free and everyone living or working within the county borough is welcome to join. Find out more by visiting www.rhondda-cynon-taff.gov.uk/libraries
