A young mother of one is counting her blessings after joining an award-winning firm of accountants and registered auditors.
According to Accountant Ellen Plack, 34, accountancy is the perfect profession for her.
Ellen is now a key member of the team at Wrexham and Saltney based Coxeys who became the first accountancy practice in Wales to earn an Investors in People Gold Award.
As a result, local AM Lesley Griffiths said Coxeys was “comparable with the world’s best” and hailed them as a shining example to the rest of Wales.
Ellen said: “I was very excited to join Coxeys. There’s a fantastic team here and they are so supportive.
“One of the things that attracted me was the emphasis they place on personal and professional development. They believe in investing in their staff.
“I’m a very logical person and I like figures. But accountancy is about much more than numbers, it’s about customer care and providing top class professional advice.
“We are a general practice offering a top class service right on the doorstep – city skills at provincial prices.
“We deal with a huge variety of clients from small sole traders to multi million pound international companies.
“That’s why we believe passionately in the personal and professional development of our team. Developing technical expertise in areas including tax and audit is a priority.
“I think the fact that we were awarded gold by Investors in People shows how much we believe in training and providing the opportunity for career progression.”
“The IIP assessor told us that gold represents world class best practice and shows that we are a really cutting edge organisation operating at the highest level of people management practice.
“We used the IIP framework as a business model for excellence – and we consider the award as much more than just a kitemark, it’s embedded in our ethos of client care and staff development.”
