Second placed Cardiff Blues welcome the Scarlets to the Cardiff City Stadium for their Magners League clash, this Friday (KO 8.05pm).
The Blues are currently the best home side in the Magners League and have won their last six games in all competitions at Cardiff City Stadium since Gloucester won there in the LV= Cup on 14 March.
The Blues have lost just one of their last eight encounters with fellow Welsh regions, against the Ospreys on New Year’s Day, while the Scarlets 18-21 defeat to Ospreys in round five ended a three game winning run in the Magners League.
Speaking ahead of the match Cardiff Blues Director of Rugby, David Young, said, “I think we have got to shake it up a little bit as it doesn’t seem to be working for us at the minute.”
“There’s no point in having a squad and picking the same players when realistically perhaps not everyone’s firing on all cylinders, both individually and collectively.”
“It’s a massive game for us against the Scarlets. I think they’ve played some great attacking rugby and are the highest try scorers in the Magners League, so we know they can score tries from anywhere.”
“However, we beat them three times last season so can take confidence from that.”
“It’s important firstly and foremost to get back to winning ways, but I’m hoping we have a performance to suit as well.”
