Dyfed Powys Police is getting ready to take to the road and find out exactly what matters most to the people it serves.
Over the next six weeks, researchers from the force will visit towns and communities across the four counties of Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Powys. They’ll be asking what you think of your police service and what you think the force’s priorities should be over the coming year.
“This is a real opportunity for people to have their say and for us to speak to and meet people that we may not ordinarily have contact with,” said Deputy Chief Constable Jackie Roberts. “It helps us find out what people really think of their police as well as identifying the issues affecting their areas and how we may work more closely together to tackle these problems.
“Our aim is to make sure we keep our communities safe, so we do need people to tell us what they really think, particularly what we should be focusing on.
“Given the recent budgetary announcements, it is more important than ever that we spend our money wisely and on things that matter to our communities.”
The survey will take no more than five minutes but it’s hoped the answers will give police a good insight when it comes to setting priorities for the future.
“Our responsibility is to hold the Chief Constable and Chief Officers to account for the policing services delivered across the counties of Dyfed-Powys,” said Delyth Humfryes, chair of Dyfed Powys Police Authority. “It is crucial that we understand the issues that are affecting people every day in our communities so we ensure that our police are addressing things that are important to people living in our area.
