A Llanelli youth centre is undergoing a face-lift as part of a Community Regeneration Tidy Towns Project.
Following some recent vandalism, young people will spruce up the garden at Bwlch Rangers Youth Centre to help encourage more people to visit the centre and take advantage of its facilities.
Pupils form Coedcae and Bryngwyn School and students from the Llanelli SMART Project and FACE will take part in a three-day challenge to transform the garden and will be using the work as part of their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and other accreditation.
Huw Thomas, Senior Youth worker for the Llanelli area said:
“The young people have been determined to sort the current situation at Bwlch and they’ve made it their priority to ensure that the garden will be a focal point at the centre.
“The young people are setting a great example and it just goes to show that there are youngsters out there who want to make a difference and do well in their communities.”
The clean-ups take place during September and October. Anyone wanting to support the young people and staff should contact Huw on: 01554 749782
