The Governors and staff of Ysgol Grango in Rhos are pleased that their recent Estyn inspection report has identified that it is a “ good school where pupils achieve good standards, make good or better progress and behave very well.”
The school that provides a “broad and balanced curriculum” and received praise for making “pupils feel safe and very well supported in the school”.
The range of extra-curricular activities at the school contributes well to pupils’ learning and progress. The activities include a balance of leisure and academic activities, with a small number of them providing opportunities for pupils to gain qualifications.
The school is particularly proud of its pupils whose “behaviour in class and around the school is very good and pupils arrive punctually to lessons. Pupils are engaged and motivated, and display pride and confidence in their work.”

He said: “We are delighted with this report. It reflects how the school has improved since the last inspection in 2004, and recognises the hard work, dedication and commitment of staff, students, parents and governors over a number of years.
“The school is moving from strength to strength and we are all excited by the prospect of embarking on the next phase of the school’s journey – to build on this success and further develop the school as a centre of excellence, serving the needs of the community and developing the rich potential of the young people of the Rhosllanerchrogog area.”
