One of the newest and hottest fitness crazes to hit the UK is proving to be a big hit with people in Cardiff.
Since Cardiff Council Leisure Services’ introduced Zumba® as part of its fitness programme just less than two months ago, it has become one of its most popular fitness activities.
Zumba® is available at Council leisure facilities across the city. It is a Latin-inspired dance fitness programme and is a fun alternative to aerobics. It fuses Latin music and easy-to-follow movements to create a unique workout.
The routines feature interval training and resistance training which help to tone and sculpt the body whilst burning fat.
No previous training is required for the classes and it is suitable for all abilities.
Executive Member for Sport, Leisure and Culture, Cllr Nigel Howells said: “We are thrilled at how popular the Zumba® classes have been at our leisure centres across the city.
“Cardiff Council’s Leisure services are always keen to provide the latest fitness trends and we recognise the importance of offering new and exciting activities which appeal to both new and existing customers.
“This fits on with our commitment to promote healthy and active lifestyles amongst the residents of Cardiff”.
The classes are available on a casual basis and discounts are available for Active Card members.
The Active Card is a straight forward way of saving money on leisure and fitness activities across Cardiff. There are several types of Active Card available, with just one monthly payment.
