Appeal after man assaulted in Kinmel Bay

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was assaulted in Kinmel Bay.

Just after 8pm on Saturday, February 19, a man in his 40’s was assaulted on his own driveway as he returned home from a walk to the local shops.

The victim became aware of the three individuals as he approached his home. As he walked on to his driveway the three rushed towards him from behind vehicles, one of the three individuals subjected him to an unprovoked attack. A struggle has taken place.

The victim was left shocked by the incident and had sustained injuries to his head which are not believed to be serious.

At least one of the offenders may have sustained injuries to the head or face. One of the three may have also been soaked in beer

Police inquiries are underway and CCTV footage from the vicinity is also being studied as part of the investigation.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to contact PC 1543 Newport at Abergele Police Station. Officers are also appealing to anyone who is aware of any person who has suffered an injury to their face or head that is unexplained to come forward with information.

“It is believed that three people were possibly disturbed by the victim,” said PC Simon Newport, who is investigating the incident. “This is a very unusual and disturbing incident, whereby the victim was subjected to a totally unprovoked attack on his own driveway. The motive for the incident is unknown and I would appeal to the public to assist with this investigation.”
