Do you care?

CarePeople living in the Caerphilly county borough who care for loved ones may be missing out on vital financial and practical support because they do not realise that they are carers.

A special information and advice session for carers will take place this Friday (4th December) at Penallta Rugby Club, Caerphilly Road, Ystrad Mynach (the former CCBC education offices).

The event is being held on Carer’s Rights Day and the session will run from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

A ‘carer’ is classed as someone who provides invaluable, regular and unpaid help to a loved one who is elderly, ill or disabled and cannot manage without support. Anyone can be a carer – they can be male, female, young or old.

Many people who look after family members or friends are happy to do so. But sometimes carers themselves need help and support to continue providing such invaluable care.

If you would like more information or require a sitting service or transport to the event, please call 01443 864604.
