Linc-Cymru Appoints Two New Board Members

L to R - Ellen Donovan, Richard Norton, Peter Green, Linc-CymruLinc-Cymru Housing Association Ltd, has appointed two new members to its management board to further enhance its corporate governance.

Ellen Donovan, from Margam, and Richard Norton, from Cardiff, both join the Board as non-executive directors, bringing with them significant and wide-ranging experience from senior management positions in a number of industries at local, regional and national level.

Richard has held financial director roles in industries including electronics, recycling and food manufacturing for more than 20 years. He brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of financial control, including raising finance for capital, developing cash management strategies, budgeting and forecasting, as well as former roles in human resources management positions and as a business consultant to SMEs. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute.

Richard said, “I am pleased to join such an established, yet forward looking organisation, that is so important for the community in south Wales and look forward to contributing in my role as a board member.”

Ellen has more than 25 years’ experience in the fashion retail sector. During her 16 years with Debenhams, she held several senior management positions, including six years as sales and operations director. During this time she gained a valuable insight into management of all aspects of the business, with particular expertise in human resources, risk management and transformational change. She has formerly launched and run her own photography company and is a qualified executive coach and business mentor.

Ellen said, “I’m delighted to have been appointed as a non-executive director to the Board of Linc Cymru.  I am excited at having the opportunity to join a dynamic team and leading provider of housing, health and social care services across Wales.

Linc-Cymru’s board is responsible for setting the organisation’s strategic direction, with a focus on innovation and forward-thinking to enhance the services it provides to its customers. With divisions covering housing, health and social care and social enterprise, its board selection panel seeks to ensure its members bring a wide range of skills, experience and backgrounds to draw from as the organisation progresses.
