Neath aware of Bedwas challenge

For the first time in over a month, Neath return to Principality Premiership action when they host Bedwas on Saturday, the game kicking off half an hour earlier than usual at 2pm because of the televised Scotland-Wales international.

After overcoming the elements as well as Bargoed in the SWALEC Cup last Saturday, top-scorer James Thomas, prop Martin Jones, lock Peter Sidoli and flanker Lee Evans are added to the 22 who did duty in a 26-man squad from which the final selection will be made.

Neath Head Coach Patrick Horgan, said, “Because of the conditions it was difficult to take much out of last week’s win at Bargoed other than the win, of course, which we were all very pleased with.

“We controlled and commanded the game very well and now we face a big challenge from Bedwas who are one of only two sides to have beaten us this season.

“With leaders Pontypridd not playing, it is an exciting opportunity for us and the boys are determined to do well but we know how competitive Bedwas are and respect all they’ve achieved in this Division.”
