This is not just fundraising, it’s a Marks and Spencer fundraising: Rhyl store support RNLI

Staff at Rhyl’s M&S store chose to support the RNLI over the summer and organised a catalogue of events to raise funds for the charity that saves lives at sea.

Staff were encouraged to take part in treasure hunts, bake sales, a clothing auction and even a nautical day whilst customers made donations in store. A cheque totalling £1,490.95 was presented to Rhly’s RNLI Fundraising Branch Chairman, Peter Dean.

Amy Williams, Charity Coordinator at Marks and Spencer explains why the staff chose to support the RNLI:

‘We wanted to work with a charity that is close to our hearts and we chose the lifeboats because we see first hand how the crews do such a good job. The fact that they do this with no funding from the government makes our donation even more important.’

Deborah Ferns, RNLI Fundraising Manager said:

‘The staff at M&S Rhyl have shown true dedication to supporting the RNLI, their range of activities ensured that there was something for everyone to get involved with. We are very greatful for the support of all staff and customers for their fantastic donation!’

The RNLI is a charity and depends on public donations. For more information on how to get involved with fundraising for the RNLI please contact the Fundraising Office on 0121 780 6960.
