Wales call in back row cover

Wales have called up Dragons flanker Toby Faletau to the squad preparing to face Australia in the Invesco Perpetual Autumn Series ’10 opener at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.

The Dragons Academy and Cross Keys product is the son of the former Tonga and Ebbw Vale lock forward Kuli Faletau and played for Wales U20 in the Six Nations this year, missing out on most of the IRB Junior World Championship through injury.

Faletau replaces Scarlets back row Rob McCusker, who withdrew last week to treat a hernia.

Also training with the national squad this week, but yet to receive full call-ups are Blues centre Dafydd Hewitt, Scarlets centre Scott Williams and London Wasps back row Andy Powell.

Powell is unavailable for the visit of the Wallabies this weekend.

Injured centre Jonathan Davies, who sustained ankle ligament damage in training last week, has now withdrawn from the squad.
