As a result of the continuation of a successful partnership, two more homes in West Rhyl will shortly become available as low cost housing.
The refurbishment of one 4 bedroom property and one 3 bedroom property is part of the partnership between North Wales Housing and Denbighshire County Council.
The project was set up to give dwellings a new lease of life as affordable housing and is part funded by the Welsh Assembly Government through the North Wales Coast Strategic Regeneration Area Funding.
The key aims of the Denbighshire Empty Homes Project are to support regeneration and increase the supply of affordable housing. As West Rhyl is one of Wales’ most deprived wards, it is fitting that the two homes purchased by North Wales Housing will be some of the first to benefit from the project.
Lead Member for Regeneration, Councillor David Thomas, said, “We’re delighted to be part of this project, and to have the opportunity to support regeneration and help local people become home owners for the first time.”
Refurbishment works on both properties are nearing completion and it is intended that they will be available as 60% shared ownership for between £75,000 and £81,000.
