50th Anniversary Celebrations planned for Catwg Primary

Staff and pupils of Catwg Primary School are celebrating their 50th anniversary. The school was opened on 22nd March 1960 by Councillor George Adams and to mark the occasion Catwg Primary will have a series of special events commencing Friday 19th March.

Head teacher Carol Bassett said “the children and staff have been working hard devising ways in which we can celebrate the occasion including past pupils entertaining current pupils at a musical morning, a musical evening with our school choir and Bryncoch Male Voice Choir and a children’s party in the school dressing in clothing through the decades.”

Council Leader Ali Thomas said “I wish every success to the teachers, pupils and parents involved in organising this momentous 50th anniversary celebration and would like to personally thank all past and present teaching staff at Catwg Primary for their dedication and commitment to provide first class education to the children of Neath Port Talbot.”

If you are an ex pupil or former member of staff and own memorabilia such as photographs or programmes of school events Head Teacher Carol Bassett would be very grateful if you could contact the school on 01639 642731 or email [email protected]
