At approximately 3pm yesterday, Thursday 8th April, a road traffic collision occurred involving a young boy and a bus in Pontypool.
The 8 year old boy from the Blackwood area was on a bicycle when he collided with the bus.
It happened on Emlyn Terrace, Talywain.
The young boy was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital where he died. No-one else was injured.
Inspector Lee Ford said,
“This is a tragic incident and a full police enquiry will take place into the circumstances, our thoughts are with the boys family at this time.”
