As its contribution to Cardigan’s 900th anniversary celebrations Opera Teifi steps back into the Middle Ages with its musical comedy Difa Opera which casts a satirical eye on contemporary Welsh life before embarking on a voyage to the Wales of our ancestors.
The libretto by Dafydd Wyn Jones sparkles with irreverent humour and satire, and is set to music by Seimon Morris, music which is both in the modern idiom and also wittily echoes the classical composers – thus promising something to suit most musical tastes. Difa Opera can be seen at Theatr Mwldan, Cardigan, from Tuesday to Friday evenings, May 18-21, at 7.30 pm.
