As part of National Adult Learners Week 2010 Gnoll Primary School Neath held a Learning at Work Day for teachers funded by NIACE.

The day consisted of bitesize courses to encourage teachers to continue with adult learning by introducing varied multicultural activities and techniques.

Neath Port Talbot Development Officer and Union Learning Rep Jan Hoggan said ” This is has been an excellent opportunity for teaching staff to continue education in a relaxed atmosphere and reflects the diverse cultures within the schools community.”

The day re-invigorated the staff whilst learning additional skills such as massage therapies, yoga and jewellery making, Indian Henna pattern, Zumba dance classes and a mouth-watering Thai themed lunch.

Council Leader Cllr Ali Thomas said ” We fully support this grant funded initiative. It has encouraged our dedicated teaching staff to re-engage with learning, which can only have a positive effect on our students throughout the County Borough.”
