Denbighshire County Council’s Street Lighting and Procurement Team is delighted to have been announced as finalists for this year’s Excellence Wales Award in the collaboration category.
Excellence Wales is organised by the WLGA and funded by Welsh Assembly Government. It aims to promote learning from other authorities and to offer local authorities in Wales the opportunity to recognise and celebrate notable practice.
The announcement, made during the Welsh Local Government Association conference in Llandudno yesterday, is great news for the team who have already won national industry accolades for two years running – the only team to do this in the whole of Wales.
Cabinet Lead Member for Environment and Sustainable Development, Councillor Sharon Frobisher, said: “We are delighted that this dedicated team has been recognised again for the excellent service it provides for the residents of Denbighshire but also for its work in procuring excellent value for money through collaboration across North Wales.
“This is on top of the fact that no other team has won an APSE award two years running.
“To again be in line for a national award is feather in the cap of the whole team and we wish them every success in the finals later this year.”
