Cardigan Art Society will hold the opening of their annual Sumer Show at Theatr Mwldan on Friday 2 July at 6.30pm.
Cardigan Art Society was formed more than 30 years ago by a group of painters who wished to promote the arts and local practicing artists. After a long history of support and activity at Theatr Mwldan, this local organisation is included each year in Oriel Mwldan’s Visual Arts programme.
Cardigan Art Society’s members continue to encourage established and emerging artists, most of whom live and work in Cardigan and the surrounding areas of west Wales. Currently the society enjoys a membership of increasing diversity which is a testimony to the artistic achievement attainable within the local community.
The society welcomes new members on an egalitarian basis. With a comprehensive programme of talks, demonstrations and workshops, there are opportunities to develop skills and encouraging support is always at hand. A broad spectrum of artistic styles and techniques promises something of interest for everyone.
The Art Society’s exhibition showcases the best of members’ work and forms a popular event in Oriel Mwldan’s calendar. Works on sale are also priced to suit all pockets. The Summer Show runs until Saturday 15 August.
