Mountain Ash paperboy assault: Appeal for witnesses

South Wales Police is appealing for information on an attempt robbery of a teenage boy in Mountain Ash.

The 13-year-old was delivering papers in the Triangle area of Caegarw at around 6am on Friday, July 2 when he was punched by an older teenager who demanded money.

The victim managed to break free and run from the lane towards Aberffrwd Road. Nothing was stolen and the boy fortunately did not require any medical attention.

Officers are continuing to investigate this incident and are appealing for assistance from the community to identify the person responsible.

The suspect is described as white, around 17 years old, 5ft 10in tall, of medium build, and was wearing black tracksuit bottoms, white trainers, and a distinctive yellow hooded top with the Henley logo written in blue.
