Police and councillors work together to reassure communities in Flintshire

South Flintshire Neighbourhood Policing team recently met local councillors at the North Wales Police Firearms Training Complex at Ruthin to discuss issues of local concern.

The consultation meetings are held every two months and are seen as an important opportunity for councillors to engage with police to better understand what really matters to communities across Flintshire and then to agree long-term solutions.

The meetings also provide councillors with an insight into the working practices of North Wales Police and an update on recent progress in the South Flintshire District, which they can then pass on to their local residents.

Inspector Martin Best said: “Understanding what matters to people isn’t enough; we need to work together to take the most appropriate action and then let communities know what we have done and whether our actions have been effective.”
