RNLI volunteer crewmembers and supporters welcomed visitors to New Quay yesterday as the station opened its doors to the public for their annual Lifeboat Open Day.
Visitors and members of the public were kept busy in the sunshine as the RNLI volunteers offered various fundraising activities such as teddy tombola, cake stall, car wash and a BBQ – all to raise vital funds for the RNLI. The BBQ was very successful as members from the station had to run out during the afternoon to buy more burgers and sausages to keep up with demand!
The Lifeboat Open Day was a great success and over a £1,000 was raised during the day towards the RNLI. The RNLI is a charity that relies on public donations. The volunteers at New Quay Lifeboat station would like to thank all who came to the Lifeboat Open Day and showed their support towards the charity that saves lives at sea.
