Newport County are still without a win on their return to the Conference after a 2-2 draw with Histon at Spytty Park.
The Exiles gave up a two-goal advantage and have taken just two points from their opening three games.
County raced into a two-goal lead through Danny Rose and Robbie Matthews but Histon hit back before half time, then equalised after the break.
Rose put the home side ahead after just six minutes with a sweet strike from just outside the penalty area. The lead was doubled as Williams poked home a Craig Reid cross after last-season’s top-scorer had worked himself space down the right-wing.
But County didn’t hold their lead for long. An onrushing Glyn Thompson was beaten by a cross clipped over him as Romone McCrae flicked a finish over his shoulder before Erkan Okay drove in a right-footed finish from 20 yards to level the match.
Both sides enjoyed pressure as the game wore on and Kerry Morgan – re-signed with County initially until the January transfer window – came closest to finding a winner.
