Partnership success in Flintshire

Ty Croeso, the community house at Manley Court in Shotton, has recently celebrated its first birthday with a party for the residents and other users of the facility.

Ty Croeso has been successfully used by the Residents Association for social events and information meetings. Flintshire County Council Children’s Services Department also use the building for family meetings.

The residents group gave their thanks to the Council’s Tenant Participation Officer and staff from Social Services for helping to make the facility the success that it is.

Councillor Carol Ellis, Flintshire County Council Executive Member for Social Services, said:

“This is a fantastic facility which is well used by young people and older people. It’s a real benefit to the community and we should try to emulate this elsewhere in Flintshire on this scale.”

Councillor Helen Brown, Flintshire County Council’s Executive Member for Housing, said:

“It’s fantastic to see such excellent use of the community house, Ty Croeso – it’s such a well used facility. It’s also very encouraging to see the partnership of Housing and Social Services working together.”
