Llanelli Sea Cadets Support Burry Port Lifeboat Station

DLA Roger Bowen and crew member Susanna Morgan visited T.S. Echo to receive a donation from Sea Cadets after a fund raising event held on 22 August 2010. The cadets had organised a duck race to raise funds for the RNLI and other local charities. This was the second year that they had organised a duck race.

Training Ship Echo was established in Llanelli during Warship Week 1942 and has met weekly ever since. The Sea Cadets is run entirely by volunteers who give up their time to train the 30 cadets in a variety of onshore and waterborne activities, one of their boats being berthed near to the lifeboat station at Burry Port.
