Caernarfon officers visit local Day Centre

With Halloween just around the corner members of the Caernarfon Neighbourhood Policing Team recently visited the Maesincla Day Centre to give advice and reassurance.

As part of the all Wales Operation Be a Nice Guy (B.A.N.G) posters – one welcoming trick or treaters and the other asking callers to move on, were distributed by PCSO Annette Jones and PCSO Gethin Edwards who cover parts of Caernarfon and the surrounding area.

PCSO Annette Jones said: “We spoke to the visitors who attended the centre and discussed issues that were of concern to them in their neighbourhoods.

“We distributed information packs on behalf of Age Concern and the Alzheimer’s Society as well as the North Wales Police Operation Be a Nice Guy posters.

“Many elderly residents dread this time of year and they become anxious if called upon at night. Halloween is a fun time for young people but can also be a very unsettling time for our elderly residents. We appeal to the youngsters who are intending on going out trick or treating to respect others.

She added: “The afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by all and we will be visiting again in the very near future.”
