Appeal following serious assault in Flint

North Wales Police are renewing their appeal to the public for help in tracing two men suspected of an unprovoked attack on a middle aged man in Flint last month.

Around 6pm on Sunday October 24, a 44 year old man was admitted to hospital with facial injuries and fractured ribs. He remains in hospital in a poorly, but stable condition.

The victim is Polish and it is understood that he was assaulted by two Polish men on either the previous Friday or Saturday evening in the vicinity of Flint Castle.

DS Craig Turner said: “This was a nasty attack on an innocent man and the motive is not yet clear. The victim is in a poorly condition in hospital and we need to trace the people responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone, especially in the local Polish community to come forward if they can assist the police.

Unprovoked assaults of this nature are rare in Flint and the incident is being investigated robustly.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Wales Police on 101 or DS Kevin Bowden at Mold CID on 01352-784126 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
