Wrexham Council and McInerney invite Wrexham residents to a breakfast with a difference as they launch new homes with a 30% price cut. The national home builder is hosting the event in conjunction with Wrexham council on Saturday December 4 from 10.30am until 1pm in a bid to help first time buyers afford a place of their own.
Prices for the 18 apartments at McInerney Homes’ Cartrefle development, on Ruthin Road in Wrexham, start from just £62,997 for a one-bedroom apartment. The properties are aimed at Wrexham residents who cannot normally afford to buy their own home.
To purchase one of these apartments, prospective home buyers potentially only have to find a five or 10% deposit, which is far below the size of deposit usually required by lenders at present.
The late breakfast where tea, coffee and muffins will be served will give potential home buyers the opportunity to look over plans of the apartments, ask questions and see how McInerney are involved with the community and Wrexham Council arend aiding new buyers to get one foot on the ladder.
The price cuts come as a welcome break from the effects of the recession for buyers, facing the difficulties of a slow down in new builds and a rise in mortgage repossessions.
To purchase one of the new homes buyers must be on Wrexham Council’s ‘Low Cost Home Ownership Register’, which is administered for the Council by Cymdeithas Tai Clwyd.
Andy Lewis, Chief Housing and Public Protection Officer for Wrexham Council said:
“More than ever, it has become increasingly difficult for people to get onto the property ladder.
“Wrexham Council works with various partner organisations to help meet the growing demand for affordable housing. We are very pleased with the standards of these properties and this development will help us as an organisation to meet our targets.”
Priority will be given to those who currently live or work within Wrexham County Borough or who have close family connections in the Borough.
