Man banned from Cardiff street

A Cardiff man has been given a three-year restraining order banning him from a street in the Splott area of the city.

Warren Dutson, 32, was made subject of the order at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court following a conviction for a public order offence.

Pc Michael Neate from the Roath Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “I am sure Warren Dutson will be a familiar face to many local residents and that they are relieved that this action has been taken.

“Over a period of months there has been a catalogue of anti social behaviour incidents involving this individual culminating with his arrest on March 1 in Moorland Road.”

Dutson pleaded guilty at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court to the public order offence of using Words or Behaviour to Cause Harassment/Alarm/Distress and was given a two-month custodial sentence.

He was released the following day due to time served on remand but also made subject of the restraining banning him from contacting two named individuals in Splott and from entering Moorland Road until May 2014.

Pc Neate, who is the beat manager for Splott, added: “A lot of work has gone into making sure this matter has been dealt with properly and to ensure Warren Dutson can not return to the area where he caused so many problems.

“His behaviour greatly impacted on the lives of people in Moorland Road, I therefore hope this restraining order will improve their quality of life and finally give them some peace.

“I would like to thank those residents for their patience and support during these proceedings.”

Breaches of any court orders such as restraining orders should be reported to police by calling 999.
