Two volunteer crew members from Llandudno lifeboat station enjoyed an afternoon off their RNLI duties on Saturday to take part in a golfing competition at Silver Birch Golf Course in Betws yn Rhos.
Silver Birch Golf Course raised £750 for the RNLI during the special fundraising day and invited Llandudno RNLI crew to play for free throughout the day as a way of thanking them for their hard work and dedication to saving lives at sea.

Llandudno RNLI lifeboat station are celebrating their 150th anniversary this year and the owners of the pay and play golf course wanted to show their gratitude towards the volunteers that save lives at sea. The ‘RNLI Day’ at Silver Birch Golf Course included fundraising games, a members’ golf tournament, hog roast supper and a percentage of the public’s entry fee throughout day was also donated to the charity.

‘It was a pleasure to welcome some of the RNLI lifeboat crew from Llandudno to join us in a round of golf on Saturday. We at Silver Birch Golf Course wanted to show our gratitude to the volunteer crew for their time and dedication to saving lives at sea. Hopefully our donation from the pay and play ‘RNLI Day’ will help Llanduno lifeboat crew continue their good work into the next 150 years.’
