Lembit Öpik MP and Mick Bates AM are inviting Montgomeryshire residents to discuss climate change and Copenhagen at a public meeting in Machynlleth alongside Oxfam Cymru and the Centre for Alternative Technology. The meeting will be held in the Mary Cornelia Suite at Plas Machynlleth on Aberystwyth Road at 7:30pm on Friday, December 11.
As the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference gets underway the meeting offers an opportunity for Montgomeryshire residents to engage with the climate change agenda and discuss the impact of climate change in Wales and the developing world as well as the progress of the Copenhagen Conference. Guest speakers will include delegations from Oxfam Cymru and the Centre for Alternative Technology – who will also be providing a live link-up to CAT representatives at Copenhagen.
Lembit Öpik MP said: “This is obviously a very important issue and I look forward to what I hope will be a very interesting and informative meeting. All are welcome so please come along!”
Mick Bates AM added: “With the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit taking place, climate change is high on the agenda in Wales and Worldwide. The meeting will be an excellent opportunity for people across Montgomeryshire to get together and discuss their views on climate change, with the exciting chance to listen to discussions live from the Copenhagen Conference!”
