Visitors to bmibaby Cardiff Winter Wonderland are in for a ‘Bearilliant’ time on December 6, 13, 27 and January 3 when Bjorn the polar bear and his Inuit helper Ursula visit Cardiff’s coolest Christmas attraction.
Showtime’s for Bjorn and Ursula are 1pm, 3pm and 5pm and last approximately 20 minutes.
Back by popular demand, Bjorn is a beautiful, animated, life size polar bear who along with Ursula will roam around the
open air ice rink to meet visitors.
He has a very friendly disposition and likes being stroked and enjoys posing for pictures with children while Ursula tells all about his lifestyle and rapidly disappearing habitat.
Bjorn is fully animated puppet including facial movements – blinking eyes, sniffing nose, opening mouth and the ability to snuffle and growl.
In its ninth season, bmibaby Cardiff Winter Wonderland is now open every day until January 3, 2010, except Christmas Day.
Over a quarter of a million visitors flock to the wonderful Civic Centre setting each year with plenty of things to do for all the family, from a spin around the open air ice rink, to a flight on the spectacular John Lewis Wheel to snacks
and drinks in the ice café bar and traditional fairground rides.
Executive Member for Sport, Leisure and Culture, Councillor Nigel Howells, said: “Bjorn is a very popular visitor to Winter Wonderland and I am delighted that he and Ursula are back once again.
“Bjorn is a great free festive treat for families and with the help of Ursula his visit is a good way of educating children about climate change.”
