Councillor Davies’ new role was announced at a special event on December 3 for National Carers Rights Day.
The event, at Rhyl Fire Station, was also used to launch a new leaflet for carers as well as a consultation on a new website for carers. In addition there was information on services available across the county and a chance to view and try out the latest in Telecare technology.
Councillor Davies said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to represent carers on behalf of Denbighshire County Council.
“There is a massive burden of responsibility on the shoulders of carers, who come from all walks of life and often feel lonely and isolated, but get on with what is a vital task.
“There are thousands of adult and child carers in Wales and the numbers are increasing.
“We must ensure support and information reaches all carers. I will do all I can to help achieve this.”
During the event, carers were also treated to a little bit of TLC with the chance of having a mini massage, nails done or have a go at card making.
