Commenting on the announcement that Virgin Media is set to create 250 new jobs in Swansea, Nick Ramsay AM (pictured), Shadow Minister for Business, Enterprise, Technology & Science, said:
“This is welcome news for the Welsh economy and demonstrates how Wales can play a leading role in the technology sector.
“Some of these jobs may be a first step on the employment ladder for young people, giving them the chance to earn as they learn as well as tackling high levels of youth unemployment.”
Suzy Davies, Assembly Member for South Wales West, said:
“This announcement is a welcome boost for the local economy in Swansea and will help provide employment and training for 250 skilled workers.
“This reinforces Swansea’s image and reputation as a place to do business.
“We now need Welsh Labour Ministers to work constructively with industry to maximise the opportunities available for companies to invest and expand their operations in South West Wales.”
