A tale of two tows

Abersoch RNLI’s second shout of the year was a case of two rescues in one launch.

At 3.30pm on Sunday 11 April Abersoch RNLI launched their inshore lifeboat to attend to a power boat with a damaged propeller, near the island of St Tudwal West.

The 18ft vessel, with its two occupants, was towed to the Warren Beach.

During the tow across the bay, the attention of the Abersoch RNLI volunteers had been alerted to a Stingray with mechanical problems.

Returning from the Warren on completion of the first service, the Abersoch RNLI’s lifeboat responded to this second casualty and safely towed the craft, with one person on board, to the main beach.
