Aberdare Assault: Further Arrests Made

South Wales PoliceA further two people have been arrested as part of the investigation into the assault on a 15 year old youth in Aberdare on Friday 25th July.
 
The arrests bring the total currently detained in connection with the assault to three.

A 22 year old female and a 25 year old man were arrested yesterday and are currently being questioned by detectives.  As released previously, a 25 year old woman was arrested in connection with the incident during the early hours of Sunday morning.  All three remain in police custody.

A major police investigation was launched on Friday evening after the assault on the 15 year old victim, who is still in University Hospital Wales with serious head injuries.

Detective Chief Inspector Kath Pritchard said: “Over the weekend we have received a huge amount of support from both the pubic and the media in connection to our appeals.  We would like to thank all members of the public whose calls led to the arrests of these three suspects”.

“We now have three people in custody but that doesn’t mean our investigation is at and end.  We are continuing with our enquires and we are renewing our appeal for information”.
