National Assembly Member Mohammad Asghar is delighted to offer his full support to a group of students at Abertillery Comprehensive School who are raising money to attend a school-based community project in Morocco.
Students aim to raise £17,000 to travel to Morocco and work with children in schools – revamping and decorating buildings and teaching English lessons.
Mr Asghar, Assembly Member for South Wales East, said: “It gave me enormous pleasure to meet the students at Abertillery Comprehensive involved in this exciting project.
“Though they are undertaking their GCSE’s, they have still found the time to fundraise by undertaking a variety of local endeavours.
“I am sure they will all enjoy a life-changing experience in Morocco – and will have a great impact on the schools they are visiting”.
Anybody wishing to support the students at Abertillery Comprehensive School with their fundraising efforts can do so by contacting Vanessa Barichello or Ian Stephens on 01495 217121.
